Around one in five Australians has a disability. This equates to 4.2 million people. According to the 2011 Census, there were 70 000 children aged 12 and under living with a disability in Australia.
The Multicultural Youth Australia Knowledge Hub was developed by the University of Melbourne's Research Unit in Public Cultures, Youth Research Centre and eScholarship Research Centre as part of the Australian Research Council funded project 'Defining the Status of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Young People' (LP150100219 2016-2018).
