Summary

A number of recent Australian studies suggest that LGBT people affiliated with particular cultural and religious groups may be at increased risk of physical and mental ill-health (Noto et al. 2014). This involves involves some of these LGBT people having to negotiate the heterosexist beliefs and practices of their cultural or religious communities AND also racism and religious intolerance from within LGBT communities (Noto et al. 2014).
