The attribute is not to be confused with Representation Type or Carrier Type attributes since the form of communication can be independent of the representation or carrier.
For example, a map (Content Type: cartographic image) can be represented as a sketch (Representation Type: graphic) or as a GIS- coded elements (Representation Type: computer)
