Domain Family Relationships
Summary
Family relationships can provide young people with a sense of belonging, support in negotiating challenges and transitions, and an important connection to shared culture, values and history. When the Australian Child Wellbeing Project asked young people from CALD backgrounds what the most important factor in their life was, "family" was most commonly reported, even where intergenerational conflict was present (Skattebol et al., 2013).
