Summary
Research has found that CALD youth from non-English speaking backgrounds have a lower rate of service utilisation than their non-CALD counterparts (Hugo et al. 2014). This is in part due to language barrier and lack of culturally appropriate services. The lack of access to appropriate services is particularly pertinent in regional communities that may have very few if any services catering to those from a CALD background (Hugo et al 2014).
