Settlement refers to access to services required for belonging. It is largely a governmental term used to allocate resources to migrant communities and to redress disadvantages they may face in accessing health, education, housing and welfare services.

The Multicultural Youth Australia Knowledge Hub was developed by the University of Melbourne's Research Unit in Public Cultures, Youth Research Centre and eScholarship Research Centre as part of the Australian Research Council funded project 'Defining the Status of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Young People' (LP150100219 2016-2018).
