Domain Belonging
Summary
Belonging is a key barometer of multicultural young people's status. It can be understood as the subjective aspect of settlement. Belonging determines multicultural young people's capacity to participate in cultural life; at the same time belonging is also generated by participation. Belonging is flexible and complex - refugee and migrant young people can experience varying forms of belonging to the nation, to local and global communities, to networks of friends and family, and to different institutional and cultural spaces.
