Response Options: There were 9 response options for this question including: 1) food, 2) rent or mortgage payments, 3) house bills (power, rates, water), 4) other bills (mobile phone, internet bills), 5) transport costs (car registration, public transport), 6) supporting family, 7) health costs, 8) study costs, and 9) none of the above. There was also a 'other (please specify)' option to allow answers beyond the available response options.

Response: 1,500 respondents answered this question.

Results: Multicultural young people reported experiencing a variety of forms of financial stress over the past year. Around one-fifth (20.7%) had trouble meeting transport costs, study costs (20.6%) or phone/internet bills (19.2%). More than one-in-ten stated they had difficulty keeping up with house bills (16.7%), food costs (15.8%) and rent or mortgage payments (15.6%).
