Summary

Research highlights a number of challenges faced by some groups of CALD young people when it comes to accessing and maintaining employment (Beadle 2014). Barriers may include: a lack of critical networks such as family and friends in employment; limited vocational skills relevant to the Australian labour market; limited work experience prior to arrival (for newly arrived young people); and lack of familiarity (Beadle 2014).
