Barriers to employment may include discrimination, language barriers, lack of familiarity with the service system, lack of financial resources, lack of information on educational 'pathways' or options that are available, difficulty gaining recognition for prior qualifications (if newly arrived), and navigating application processes (Beadle 2014).
